Jefferson Elementary School received a buddy bench from the Kiwanis Club of Jefferson County in memory of longtime educator Leigh Daley.

Jefferson County Schools is grateful to the Kiwanis Club of Jefferson County for the buddy bench recently presented to Jefferson Elementary School in memory of longtime teacher and instructional coach Leigh Daley.

Located at the front of the school, the bench serves as a meaningful space for connection and inclusion while honoring Mrs. Daley's enduring impact on students, staff, and the Jefferson Elementary community.

Buddy benches encourage kindness by providing a place where students can signal they may need a friend, a conversation, or a helping hand. The bench reflects the school's commitment to ensuring every child feels supported, valued, and included.

We extend our sincere thanks to the Kiwanis Club of Jefferson County for this thoughtful donation and for helping preserve Mrs. Daley's legacy for future generations of students.

We also appreciate the Standard Banner for highlighting this special presentation in the July 7 edition of the newspaper!
